UKZN’s audiology clinic open to the public

The clinic provides the assessment and therapy at a consultation fee of R150 for adults and R100 for children as well as pensioners.

THE University of KwaZulu-Natal’s (UKZN’s) discipline of Audiology offers weekly services to the public at the institution’s audiology clinic.

The services are for assessment and therapy and are provided during the clinic’s operating times from 08:30 to 12:30. The clinic is open only during the university’s academic calendar.

On Monday mornings:

  • Hearing assessment
  • Advanced hearing assessment (Auditory Evoked Potentials)
  • The assessment and fitting of hearing aids
  • Central auditory processing assessment

On Tuesday morning:

  • Hearing assessment for adults
  • Dizziness testing (July – October)

Wednesday:

  • Morning – Paediatric hearing assessment (0 – 6 years) (February – May)
  • Morning – Assessment and fitting of hearing aids (July – October)
  • Afternoon – Hearing assessment for school aged children and adults

Thursday afternoon:

  • Aural rehabilitation for children and adults
