Horse riding association needs volunteers

The training sessions will be held at SARDA's new premises – Eden View, 4 Assagay Crescent.

THE South African Riding for the Disabled Association (SARDA) is looking for volunteers to assist children with special needs during their regular horse riding therapy classes.

SARDA Durban provides a unique therapeutic riding programme to schools for children with special needs, and there is no charge to the schools or the families. The programme runs on weekday mornings throughout each school term and is manned by volunteers.

People who are interested in volunteering are invited to join the sessions. The first information/training sessions will be held on Monday, February 27, from 09:00 to 11:00.

“The volunteers will start shortly after the training sessions. Enthusiasm and energy are the only requirements to be a SARDA volunteer, and those with no previous horse experience are also welcome,” said SARDA volunteer Liz Nicolosi.

The training sessions will take place at SARDA Durban, Eden View, 4 Assagay Crescent.
