Diwali, known as the festival of lights, is also a time to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Observed by millions of Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists around the world, the important religious festival is also about prayer, fireworks, family gatherings and being charitable. Diwali is derived from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, which means ‘row of lights’.

The editor and staff at Highway Mail wish all those who celebrate, a happy Diwali.
