New Germany Library welcoming the community in 2025

The New Germany library reminds the public that their doors remain open.

AS the 2025 academic year begins, the New Germany Library welcomes community members, offering a variety of services and programmes designed to support learning and foster a love for reading.

With its commitment to creating an inclusive space for all, the library plays a vital role in enhancing education and community engagement.

Open from Monday to Saturday, the New Germany Library provides a conducive learning atmosphere for learners, students and the community at large.

The library offers a range of services and programmes tailored to different age groups and interests:
Bookworm Club:
A reading club for junior readers aged 7-14, encouraging young minds to explore the world of books.
Poetry Fridays:
Held on the last Friday of every month, this event celebrates the art of poetry and provides a platform for local poets to share their work.
Reading hour:
An after-school programme designed to promote reading aloud, facilitated by library staff to help children develop their reading skills and confidence.
Free computer access:
The library also offers free computer access to the public. Visitors can use the computers to check emails, send job applications, and access social media, among other activities, making it a valuable resource for those needing digital connectivity.

Library membership is free and valid for two years, allowing members to borrow up to 10 books at a time. Both children and adults are encouraged to join and take advantage of the library’s extensive collection, which includes eBooks for those who prefer digital reading.
In February 2025, the library will host an event to educate the community about crime prevention and awareness.
