WATCH: Local youngster has truckloads of talent

Saziso Ngonyama is a 21-year-old talented young man from KwDabeka who is very creative with his hands. He makes TLBs, and concrete mixer trucks with cranes using recyclable materials and wire.

GROWING up in a rural area facing many challenges, Saziso Ngonyama is adamant to succeed in life.

Ngonyama is a 21-year-old talented young man who is very creative with his hands. Born and bred in Nkandla, he makes TLBs, and concrete mixer trucks with cranes using recyclable materials and wire.

He also brings his creations to life using petrol to operate them.

Speaking to the Highway Mail, Ngonyama said he has always been creative.

“I used to make toy cars using wire when I was still in primary school, that was my hobby which I enjoyed,” said Ngonyama.

He moved to KwaDabeka last year where he is renting and says he showcases his work by standing at the taxi ranks.

“People find it fascinating to see my creations in operation, some people give me money, it is not much but it helps me to buy food and the petrol I use to demonstrate.”

Asked where the passion to make the various trucks and big vehicles comes from, he said he simply looks at the vehicles on the roads and uses his imagination when he makes his construction.

“I guess it is just a talent that God gave me. I did not study it and no one taught me how to do it,” he said.
He said his wish is for a company to recognise his talent and nourish it.

“I also wish to travel to China where I can get more knowledge.”
His future plans involve starting his own company.

“I had a challenging childhood and I hope to make a difference at home, build my mother a house and assist my siblings get an education as I only finished school in Grade 11 due to various challenges,” he said.
