8 learners injured in New Germany head-on collision

The children sustained various injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to hospitals.

EIGHT children who were on their way to school were injured this morning, (Tuesday, February 18) when the car they were travelling in collided with another vehicle.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said paramedics responded to a head-on collision on Coventry Road near Saunder Road in New Germany just after 07:00.

“Paramedics arrived on scene to find that two vehicles had collided head-on. One vehicle was carrying school children to school.

“More ambulances and Advanced Life Support Paramedics were called to assist as multiple children were injured.”

A total of eight children are reported to have sustained various injuries. They were stabilised on scene by ALS Paramedics before being transported to various Durban hospitals.
