Man dies in Upper Highway accident

The man in his 40s was declared dead on the scene.

A MAN believed to be in his 40s died in a single vehicle accident on Inanda Road near Waterfall this afternoon (April  11).

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics found the vehicle badly damaged in the roadway.

“The driver, believed to be the only occupant in the vehicle, had been ejected while the vehicle rolled numerous times.

“Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained major injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene,” reported Jamieson.

He added that traffic was severely affected as vehicles had to proceed contraflow to get past the scene.

Police will investigate the cause of the accident.
