Biker dies in Pinetown collision

The biker was declared dead on scene while two occupants in the vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries.

A BIKER died in Pinetown this morning (Wednesday, July 16) after sustaining major injuries in a horrific crash.

The incident, which left two other people injured, happened just after 11:30 on Richmond Road in Pinetown over the N3 Freeway.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the vehicles were extensively damaged, with one vehicle having left the road after the collision.

“Paramedics assessed the scene and found that a biker believed to be in his 30s had sustained major injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.

He reported that two occupants in the vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to hospital. Jamieson added that the cause of the collision is unknown at this stage.
