Westville SAPS nab suspected drug dealer
Police say the 19-year-old suspect was found in possession of 19 capsules of whoonga (heroine) and 19 pieces of rock cocaine.
THE Westville SAPS crime prevention team on Monday arrested a suspected drug dealer in the Westville area who was found in possession of two types of narcotics.
Westville SAPS communications officer Captain Elizabeth Squires said the suspect was arrested at around 18:30 in the Westville Central area where the suspect was being traced.
“Members acted swiftly and tactically at the right time to locate and apprehend the suspect who tried to run away when he noticed the police,” said Squires.

Squires added that the suspect was found in possession of two types of drugs, namely heroine (also known as whoonga),of which he had 19 capsules, and 19 pieces of rock cocaine.
“The 19-year-old was detained at Westville SAPS for possession of substances suspected to be narcotics and for further investigation,” said Squires.
Westville SAPS station commander Colonel Sharon Zamantungwa Sihlangu applauded the members for their excellent work and encouraged them to continue making arrests which will ensure drugs are removed from the streets.
