Last chance: Young women invited to enter poetry competition

The Pinecrest Centre's Future Voices Poetry Showcase is calling on female learners aged 12-19 to participate in a platform celebrating creativity, expression, and the power of words.

THE Pinecrest Centre is calling on female learners between the ages of 12 and 19  to take part in the Future Voices Poetry Showcase,  a platform designed to celebrate creativity, expression, and the power of words.

The theme is ‘What it means to be a woman in the future – My Voice, My Future’

To enter, submit your original poem to zama@mseed.co.za, with your full name, age, school, and contact details.

Poems will be open for public voting, and the poem with the most likes will receive the Viewers’ Choice Award.

One lucky voter will win a R1000 gift voucher.

Cash prizes for the top three winners:

1st Place: R5000 for the learner and R5000 for their school
2nd Place: R3000 for the learner and R3000 for their school
3rd Place: R2000 for the learner and R2000 for their school
All entrants will receive a certificate of participation.

Deadline for submissions is today, Wednesday, August 27, 23:59.

The centre encourages schools, especially English departments, to support learners in participating. This is a wonderful opportunity for young women to express their voices, showcase their creativity, and win fantastic prizes for themselves and their schools.

On Saturday, August 30, entrants will be invited to recite their poems at the centre where judges will select the top three winners.
