Tributes pour in for beloved Westville matriarch

Fondly known as "Mrs T", Priscilla Estelle Tostee touched countless lives with her kindness, joyful personality and love for people.

THE Tostee family, supported by friends, gathered at Homeground Church Westville to celebrate the life of their beloved mother, Priscilla Estelle Tostee (85), who died last Wednesday.

Fondly known as “Mrs T”, she was well known among Westville residents for her warmth, bubbly personality and deep love for people.

Her son, Charl Tostee, said his parents were among the first families to move into the area where the family home is located, nearly 60 years ago.

“Almost everyone knew and loved my mother, and she loved people just as much,” he said. “She worked as a sales representative for 37 years and had an incredible memory, she remembered everyone and even knew people’s children by name.”

Charl described his mother as a shining light who devoted herself to raising him and his two brothers Jean-Marc and Pierre.

“She was all about celebrations, and we will definitely miss her,” he said.

Her other son, Jean-Marc Tostee, wrote:

Thank you everyone for your love and thoughts with the passing of Mom /Mrs T.
We had a very special memorial and we could feel the love from all the hundreds and hundreds of heartfelt messages my brothers and I received from you.
Thank you taking the time to honour our mom with your loving words.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
