Infrastructure damages on Hagart Road to be attended to

eThekwini Municipality says a contractor will repair damage to newly built stormwater infrastructure on Hagart Road in Pinetown.

THE eThekwini Municipality has said that the infrastructure damages on Hagart Road in Pinetown will be attended to by the contractor.

This after “heavy vehicles drove over the newly constructed catchpits and pedestrian walkways, resulting in damage to the infrastructure”.

The municipality’s communications director, Mandla Nsele, said the city had attended to stormwater drainage works on Hagart Road, which included, among other interventions, the construction of stormwater catchpits, manholes, pedestrian walkways, and drainage channels.

“It has been noted that heavy vehicles drove over the newly constructed catchpits and pedestrian walkways, resulting in damage to the infrastructure. The contractor responsible has since been contacted and instructed to attend to the identified damages,” said Nsele.
