Hit and run victim calls for offender to come forward

Paul Hojem was travelling in Hillcrest on Tuesday, 30 June when he was struck by another driver in a white Golf who failed to stop.

EDITOR – On Tuesday, 30 June at 8am, while crossing Inanda Road from Christians Centre towards The Colony, I was struck by a car which failed to stop.

The car was a white Golf or similar, driven by an Asian-looking woman, according to witnesses. The full registration number of the car is not known. A lady runner, Brigette, came to my assistance and helped me to the medical centre where I received excellent care. I will be eternally grateful for the care which I received, particularly from Brigette.

It is very sad that a driver can run down an elderly man and not stop to assist. If anyone saw this incident of blatant hit-and-run or has any information on this incident or if the driver would be prepared to come forward, I would be most appreciative.

This incident has been reported to the Hillcrest police station.
