Electricity readings, what a joke

Resident questions if anyone if taking notice of the meter readings that are being sent through.

I WENT through to the Electricity Department in Pinetown a couple of months ago and asked them why, when I SMS my electricity reading to the number 083 700 0819, I receive a SMS saying ” …it has been captured on the system.”

I was still getting an estimated reading?

I was told that I must send my reading through to them via SMS on the last day of the month so that time is given to capture my electricity reading before the bill is printed.

Well, this I have done for the last two months and surprise surprise… I have just opened my electricity bill to once again have “not read” on it with an estimated reading.

Could someone please find out if we are wasting our time sending our readings through as obviously no notice is actually taking notice of them?

Really fed up with such bad service.
