I INADVERTENTLY paid the amount of R3 100 into my UIF domestic employer’s account on 2 May 2017.
I usually pay an amount of R16. I immediately phoned them in Pretoria and after numerous emails to and from them, they acknowledged my error and said it would be refunded as soon as they have proof of payment and a copy of my statement from the bank.
I immediately sent it as this was my rental money and I was now in arrears. Fortunately my landlord was very obliging and prepared to wait for this. However, after many emails back and forward, where they keep finding excuses not to refund my money, I had to send them completed UI. 19 and UI.19D forms which I did, but they continue to find feeble excuses not to pay back my money.
One excuse was the monthly payments have been done and it will be paid when they next do payments. It’s now 18 July and I’m still waiting for my money.
They now say I need to fill in another UI19 form. What for?
I’m now under the impression that they are not prepared to refund my money and its in someone’s pocket or is it a case of bad service delivery, as the norm in SA.
Can someone please give me advice on how to get my money back. Or do I report this to the SAPS?
