Street light repairs to start in March

"Please note the backlog for the city is massive, so it will take some time for them to catch up."

AT a workshop by the Human Settlement’s and Infrastructure Committee recently, the head of electricity, Maxwell Mthembu announced that the tender for street light fixing is ready and is just waiting for the city manager’s signature, and from March street light replacement and fixing will start.

There were no contracts in place and street lights were not fixed for many months now, leading to security risks for residents all over the city.

Please note the backlog for the city is massive, so it will take some time for them to catch up.

I have been reporting non-working street lights for Ward 19 and 21 but will update the list and follow up.

Please continue to report non-working street lights to the municipality or me.
