“There is a lot of talent among our pupils and we need to have these kinds of tournaments to encourage them.

“There are many people who supported this initiative and we would love to make this an annual tournament,” said Ngidi.

Ngidi said they are very grateful to ward 9 councillor, Sithembiso Mchunu and Maks hardware in Waterfall who sponsored the winning teams with the soccer kits.

“Mchunu also sponsored the medals and we received the netball kit from Douglas Pillay. Molweni Clinic provided us with first aid and the Molweni satellite police station were present for security purposes.

“We thank the greater Hillcrest local football association and the South African School Football Association.

Ngidi also acknowledged Sanele Mthethwa for providing a sound system.”
