Non-stop action at tennithon fundraiser

Help the Cowies Hill Sports Club reach its fundraising target of R60 000, which will be donated to three local NPOs.

HELP Jes Foord, Steve Phaup, Clinton Hubbard, Paul Barham, Johan Caritz and Hans Stils raise funds at the Cowies Hill Sports Club’s tennis marathon fundraiser from 6 to 7 December.

Stols, will take part in a 36 hour tennis marathon. The group will play for four hours and then break for two hours, to raise funds for Headway Natal, The Jes Foord Foundation and the Kloof and Highway SPCA. The first tennis ball will be served at 5am on Saturday morning and the last ball will be hit at 5pm on Sunday evening. The group is hoping to play an average of 560 games during their time on the courts and aim to raise R60 000.

There will also be a fun morning for children where they can go along and learn to play tennis. Delicious boerewors rolls and hot dogs will be on sale and a jumping castle for the littlies. Highway residents are also encouraged to take along their tennis rackets to the club, situated at 1 Lynton Gardens Place in Cowies Hill, and join in on a few games with the club’s players.
