Take to the road for club race

The course offers a good challenge to kick off the new year.

KEARSNEY Striders Running Club will be hosting its annual Spar sponsored 21 and 10 kilometer road races on Sunday, 18 January.

The races will start at 6am at Kearsney College in Botha’s Hill. The course offers a good challenge to kick off the new year. The runners start in the picturesque setting of Kearsney College and then run out on to the Comrades route to Alverston, then down through the Assagay Valley back up to Kearsney College.

Online entries are available at www.entrytime.com or on Saturday, 17 January at the race venue and on the morning of the race from 4.30am. The cost of the races has been kept the same as last year, provided runners enter by Saturday, 17 January. The 21km race costs R90 and the 10km race costs R60.

Runners can enter on the morning of the race, but the late entry fee will apply. Late entry for the 21km race will be R110 and R80 for the 10km.

The race organisers are using finishing times for the timing of the races, which will allow the runners quick and efficient access to their race times and placings after the race.

The 21km finishers will also each receive a T-shirt while the 10km finishers will receive a race medal.
