HVRC claims two more wins

The Land Rover Durban-Hillcrest Villagers' Rugby Club's 1st and 2nd XV teams took on the Ballito Dolphins and won.

LAND Rover Durban-Hillcrest Villagers’ Rugby Club continued their winning streak for the 2017 Rugby season by taking two wins this weekend. The 1st and 2nd XV’s both won their away games against the Ballito Dolphins.

The Villagers’ 1st XV once again achieved an overwhelming 72-0 win in their first division encounter.

The local team stunned their opposition with their fast attacks. Head coach, Mike de Kock, said he was impressed with his side’s performance and discipline.

Man of the match went to Kyle Bester (forwards) and Brandon Waugh (backs).

Villagers’ 2nds achieved another hard-fought win of 12-0. Man of the match was awarded to Chris Childsmith (forwards) and Brandon Young (backs).

The Turaco Energy – Hillcrest Villagers 3rd XV unfortunately lost to a robust Toti 3rd XV at Toti on Friday evening.

The team has a bye this week and it will allow them to regroup before their next fixture. Man of the match went to Calvin McClung (forwards) and Gareth Morgan (backs).

The Land Rover Durban Hillcrest Villagers 1st and 2nd teams will take on the Harlequins at home at the Durban Shongweni Club on Wednesday, 26 April.

The 2nds will kick off at 7pm and the 1st XV game will kick off at 8.30pm.
