WESTVILLE Boys’ High School had a bumper weekend of sport with convincing wins across five sporting disciplines – rugby, hockey, squash, volleyball and badminton.

The rugby saw them travel up to the capital where they played against five different schools, winning 16 out of the 19 fixtures.

These schools were Voortrekker, Maritzburg College, Alexandra, Carter and Pietermaritzburg Development.

The first XV went on try-scoring spree convincingly beating Voortrekker 51-10. The 14A, 15A and 16A teams did not concede a single point between them, winning 74-0, 60-0 and 53-0 respectively.

With the KZN Trials completed last week, Okkie Barnard and Nkosi Nikwe have been selected for the KZN U16 rugby team to play at the prestigious Grant Khomo Week being held in Bloemfontein later this year.

Grade 10 learner, Francois Fourie, has also been selected to represent the South Africa U18 Indoor Cricket team which will embark on a National Inland Tour in September.
