Hilton music concert on the house
Don't miss piano maestro Christopher Duigan's free concert at the Witness Hilton Arts Festival.

PIANIST Christopher Duigan will perform a free concert at the Witness Hilton Arts Festival on Saturday 14 September.
Sponsored by Marriott The Income Specialists, the 60-minute concert will take place in the Hilton College Chapel at midday. Booking is essential.
This classical recital will include music by Handel, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt and Debussy in a positive and uplifting programme designed to appeal to a broad audience.
Described as a ‘South African piano icon’ and a ‘national musical treasure’, Duigan has performed with all leading South African orchestras. In 2010 he became one of only five pianists in South African history to be invited to be a ‘Steinway Artist’, joining an exclusive company of international musicians. Earlier this year, he undertook a short tour of performances in London, having performed in the UK on several previous occasions.
The Hilton Arts Festival is particularly close to his heart. He has run the concert series here for the past 10 years and has performed at it more than 50 times. Duigan said it was particularly special to be able to offer a free concert, thanks to Marriott’s sponsorship, at the Chapel which is one of his favourite venues.
As a producer and impresario, Duigan is the director of the widely acclaimed Music Revival which he established in 1997. This initiative brings numerous recitals and chamber music performances to communities in KZN and the Cape winelands. Under the Music Revival banner, Duigan has created new audiences, built a large and loyal following and re-examined many of the norms of concert performance. His popular crossover presentations combine virtuoso classical repertoire with selections of jazz, classic ragtime, traditional and ‘Nuevo’ tango and contemporary film music.
