Chill out with golden oldies

Sit back and relax while watching Forever Young, a musically nostalgic trip back in time now showing at the Barnyard.

TAKE your friends and family down to the Barnyard Theatre to enjoy Forever Young, a fundraising project for the Mariannridge Methodist Church and the Candyfloss Pre-school.

The aim of the show, which began in January and runs until Sunday 9 March, is to raise funds to improve the facilities of the church and the pre-school.

“It is an excellent Saturday evening opportunity for families, sport clubs, and for the corporate business sector to enjoy quality entertainment while assisting in raising funds for a community where high levels of unemployment and poverty exists. By purchasing your tickets from us approximately 20 per cent of the ticket price will go towards our building project,” said I an Edwards, an organiser of the event.

The show proudly salutes the great musical legends of a former era, from James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, the soulful Louis Armstrong, Barry White and Ray Charles to Jimi Hendrix, Freddie Mercury, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Eddie Cochran.

Tickets cost R140 per person, and food can be purchased via the theatre’s appointed caterers, or you can take your own food baskets into the theatre. Individual tickets are available, as well as tables of 10 and 14. Don’t delay as this is the pen-ultimate performance of this memorable show. Contact Charmaine Cupido on 031 7031601 at the school or Ian Edwards on 083 690 8839. They will arrange to deliver your tickets to you.
