Free Duigan and Freschi concerts
SA's leading concert pianist, Christopher Duigan and popular baritone, Federico Freschi, will perform two free concerts at the Witness Hilton Arts Festival.

MUSIC lovers will not want to miss two performances featuring South Africa’s leading concert pianist, Christopher Duigan and popular baritone, Federico Freschi, at the Witness Hilton Arts Festival this September.
The two performances are being presented free of charge thanks to the generous sponsorship from Marriott, The Income Specialists.
The first, In Concert, is a solo classical piano recital by Duigan on Saturday 20 September at 10am, while in the second, The Songs we Love, Duigan will perform with Freschi on Sunday 21 September at 4pm. Both concerts are 70 minutes long and take place in the Chapel.
In Concert features a programme of classical works by Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Beethoven’s monumental Sonata Op 57 ‘Appasionata’. It is a showpiece of the masterly skill which has won Duigan international acclaim.
In The Songs we Love, Duigan and Freschi will thrill their audience with their engaging yet elegantly sophisticated blend of classical and popular music. This programme never fails to delight with its diverse elements ranging from the vocal gymnastics of Rossini to nostalgic, old-world operetta, the popular songs of Cole Porter and hits from Broadway musicals.
Simon Pearse, chief executive of Marriott said he was delighted to bring two such talented artists to the Hilton Festival stage this year.
“It is an honour for us to make it possible for two such distinguished performers to take part in a festival which is renowned as one of the premier cultural events in the country and which is set to offer a feast of talent and entertainment to a diverse audience,” said Pearse.
