WIN: Russian ice show comes to Durban
Stand a chance to see the Shine on Ice Dance Theatre combines master figure skating as well as the skills of acrobats, jugglers, clowns and ice ballet dancers.

THE newly-upgraded Durban Ice Arena will be the stage for a spectacular ice show which comes to the city on Saturday, 21 November and Sunday, 22 November.
Direct from Moscow, Russia, Shine on Ice Dance Theatre combines master figure skating as well as the skills of acrobats, jugglers, clowns and ice ballet dancers.
A 20-month upgrade has given Durban a world-class ice arena which is four times the size of the old ice rink and boasts new seating, flooring, lighting, sound and a balcony café.
“This project was certainly not a simple undertaking as we renovated a landmark with such historic value,” said owner, Sastri Ramiah.
“Our vision was to create a truly multi-purpose international arena that will cater to our local and international ice-skating fraternity, but also offer a venue that can be transformed for mixed used events, adding to the overall offering of Durban as a whole.”
Created in Moscow in 2004, Shine on Ice puts the spotlight on Russia’s talented figure skaters, most of whom have won international competitions. Having toured Europe, Latin America, Canada and the United Arab Emirates, this will be the troupe’s first ever performance in South Africa.
Billed as ‘colourful, creative, original and spellbinding’, Shine on Ice is presented by impresario, Edouard Miasnikov, who has brought a wealth of Russian ballet and music to Durban.
Miasnikov said, “Shine on Ice is fantastic entertainment for the whole family with the performers bound to leave a lasting impression of their dazzling skills.”
Performances are on Saturday, 21 November at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm and on Sunday, 22 November at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm.
Tickets, priced from R200 to R300, are available through Computicket.
