CALLING all historical romance, paranormal and mystery fans!

There is definitely something for everybody in the first installment of the Lady Helen series.

You are whisked away to London in the year 1812 and our heroine is being introduced into the marriage mart and for a stint everything is quite straight forward for Lady Helen.

Enter the dashing Lord Carlston – a possible murderer – who introduces her to a whole new world, literally.

Lady Helen is shown the underground, the demon underground to be precise and it is here she learns she is destined to see it destroyed.

Inbetween the soirées, balls and playing nice with the gentry, Lady Helen is also learning to control and hone her superpowers.

There is also the added bonus of the ‘will they or won’t they’ kind of romance, which is positively delicious.

There is a lot of world building in this book, so the novel could feel a touch drawn out.

It is dotted with a fair amount of historical facts which will either pull you in deeper or make the 500 odd pages feel like a chore than an escape.

It is a great start for what could possibly be an interesting series featuring a kick-butt female lead.
