A peach delight is groovy baby

A difficult card awaits punters for the regular Friday Night meeting at Greyville but there can be some decent payouts and there are winners to be found.


The drop in her merit-rating has led to a return to form of the Dean Kannemeyer trained Peach Delight and she could be the right one in the lucky last race, a FM 74 Handicap over 1400m.

Peach Delight has a wide draw to overcome but it is not a major problem on the Polytrack as long you don’t drop out of touch and jockey Stuart Randolph usually does well for this yard.

Syringa and Peace Again are unreliable but could be the biggest danger.

Groovy News has only won once in 19 starts to date but has shown a liking to the Polytrack surface so could be the right one in Race 7, a MR 65 Handicap over 1400m.

He was a good third behind So Be Snappy in a far better race than the one he competes in here and is well drawn so should be an easy ride Doctor Lembethe.

Another runner who could be a possible banker is Maachaan in Race 5, a MR 66 Handicap over 1400m.

This Colin Scott trained five-year-old dropped to a rating that allowed him to win last time out and only picked up a three-point penalty so that may not be enough to stop him from following up.
