A G4S security guard was injured after suspects bombed a cash van and fled with an undisclosed amount of money in the latest armed robbery on Mahoro Street.
A G4S security guard was injured when ten unknown suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash during a second cash-in-transit (CIT) heist in just three months in Thokoza.
The CIT heist, in which a G4S van was bombed and several nearby houses were affected by the blast, took place on Mahoro Street in Everest, Thokoza, on July 28.
This latest incident follows an earlier, unsuccessful CIT heist targeting a Fidelity cash van, during which one of the gang members lost his leg and other body parts. That incident occurred at the corner of Khumalo and Murubisi streets in Phola Park, Thokoza, on May 6.
According to Gauteng Provincial SAPS spokesperson Tintswalo Sibeko, approximately ten suspects were involved in the latest heist in Everest.
