Kempton Park-based hip-hop artist Martin Kekana, better known as Numi, is ready to make his mark on the music industry with his unique sound and inspiring journey.

Numi’s passion for hip-hop was ignited at age 15 while he was still in high school, coming from a musically inclined family.

Influenced by his uncle, a jazz musician, and named after his late grandmother, Nkomokana, a traditional poet, Numi developed his writing skills from an early age.

His love for hip-hop grew from its storytelling power and its ability to serve as a universal language.

“Hip-hop resonates with us; it’s a news channel for our community and the world,” Numi said.

“My aspirations are multifaceted, reflecting my diverse interests and talents.”
