The news has just been informed that Ulie and Max have been found.
Unfortunately the dogs were found dead dumped in a drain near their owner’s home.
It is not clear who found the dogs and how they died.

Five years ago a father and son team helped save their owner’s life by cutting an armed robbery in Allensnek short. Today these saviours are missing!
Ulie and Max, the father and son team, are not your ordinary heroes. They are boerboels aged ten and seven. They kicked up such a fuss when their owner, Joop Willemse was held up, cocked gun against the head, by four armed men that these men chose to flee from the scene. They fled with Willemse’s keys, wallet, car (later recovered) and cellphone but at least they didn’t enter the property as the family’s boerboels were frantically trying to get out to help their owner.
The robbers debated going in to see what else – and who else – was in the house, but decided against it when they saw, and heard, the dogs! Joop’s then 87-year old mother-in-law was inside and had heard the commotion. ADT and the police were summoned and she immediately opened the gate when the robbers drove off, so that Willemse could get inside.
From that day on the dogs have become extremely protective, standing between Joop, his wife Mariaan and strangers. They would even scan the area outside the gates and come straight back into the property every day.
Now the dogs are missing.
“On 26 May our gate was giving problems and the nurse and housemaid who work at our house were battling to get the gate to close. They asked the neighbour to help, because they know how important the gate is. In this commotion the dogs did not hear the gate closing and they must have wandered off,” a distraught Willemse said.
“Ulie is the father of Max. He is 10 years old. He has an albino-like face and is very friendly. His wears a Harley Davidson collar. His name and our telephone numbers are on the tag on his collar. Ulie loves kids and small dogs. He is still the king in the yard and the other little ones and Max have a huge amount of respect for him.

“Max is the son who is seven years old. Max has a black face. He has diamond-shaped black patches around the eyes. He is a real softie very obedient to his father. His collar is also dark brown with studs on and his name and our telephone number is on the tag.”
There is a R5 000 reward for their safe return. They were last seen on the corner of Kingfisher and Snipe Streets in Horison when they tried to get shelter in a complex. This was the last positive sighting. We had lots of leads so far but nothing definite.
If you see either of these animals phone Joop or Mariaan Willemse at 082 788 1682 or 082 468 3668.
