Krugersdorp High wins prestigious award

Krugersdorp High School won the Personal Initiative Award.

Ivan Bailey, principal of Krugersdorp High School, attended the annual Allan Gray Orbis Circle of Excellence Foundation conference in Grahamstown to accept a prestigious award.

Selected schools from around the country were at the conference held on the Rhodes University Campus.

At the recognition dinner, Krugersdorp High School won the Personal Initiative Award for the school that has provided the most consistent eligible Fellowship nominations, along with Pretoria High School for Girls.

KHS has one graduate and two girls busy with their studies.

Ellen Phiri, a Grade 12 pupil, is in the final stage of the selection process to this prestigious organisation.

According to their website, the Foundation is of the firm belief that high-impact responsible entrepreneurs will contribute dramatically to positive economic, social and political change.

The Foundation therefore identifies, selects and invests in individuals who show potential greatness over the long term through its Scholarship and Fellowship opportunities.

The Foundation’s investment approach provides access to education and entrepreneurial development.

Once formal education is completed the Foundation encourages work experience that complements personal passion, purpose and skills development.

It is the Foundation’s hope that Fellows will then move into areas of influence where they will bring lasting change and make a positive impact.
