KHS happy about improved pass rate

The school bagged 181 distinctions and boasts a passrate of 99,2 per cent.

Pupils from Krugersdorp High School waited eagerly since early this morning 6 January for their matric results.

Some matriculants said they would miss their school days while others mentioned that they were ready for all the new challenges life will throw at them.

“I will not miss school, but I will miss my swimming activities,” said Keegan Jones who was accompanied by his mother Anjé.

Although he did not open his results in the presence of the news he said he knew he did well and passed with good grades.

Three happy friends Quintin Serfontein, Kenny Smith and Matthew van Dyk said they would miss all their friends.

Maths genius David Elshove certainly has a head for numbers since he obtained 98 per cent for Maths and said he would use this acquired skills when he enrols for a course in engineering at a tertiary institution in the Netherlands.

He said the preliminary exams were the most difficult.

Kendall Schuster applied for degree studies in Economics at the University of the Witwatersrand and said she is very happy with her results.

“I have worked very hard from day one and I am now reaping the fruits.”

Ivan Bailey, school principal, said he is very pleased with this year’s matric results.

“We bagged 181 distinctions and boasts a pass rate of 99,2 per cent, which is an improvement on last year’s 98 per cent.”
