Plastic bag with dagga found in car

During a stop-and-search operation suspects were arrested for possession of a bag of dagga.

Two male suspect were arrested for possession of dagga during a stop-and-search operation by Hekpoort Police on the morning of 23 April.

The two suspects aged 34 and 37 were arrested along the R24 road after police had found them in possession of a substantial amount of dagga.

“While conducting a stop-and-search operation at the R24 and New Thorndale Road intersection, police stopped a grey Toyota Corolla with two occupants,” said Hekpoort Police spokesperson, Constable Gloria Maswanganye.

When police searched the vehicle, they discovered a plastic bag with dagga. Both suspects subsequently were arrested for possession.

The suspects have made a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on 25 April.

Their case was postponed pending further investigation.
