Municipality rectifying incorrect municipal bills

With many residents being frustrated with being overcharged on their municipal bills, Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) issued a statement admitting they were in the wrong.

Mayoral spokesperson Palesa Molefe said the council noted that customers were incorrectly billed for electricity in February.

“Corrections on the bills are currently being processed and 80% of those have been rectified,” she revealed.

She concluded residents whose accounts are still being corrected, will not be subjected to the implementation of a credit control policy by disconnecting electricity or interest charged on these accounts will be reversed.
