Repairs underway at three Krugersdorp sites following burst pipes
Three burst pipes at key locations have prompted urgent repairs as the municipality works to bring water services back to normal.
Residents in the Krugersdorp CBD and surrounding areas are currently experiencing disruptions to their water supply following burst pipes at three locations.
Councillor Merriam Mogoje, MMC for Infrastructure Development Services (Utilities), informed residents in a statement on July 29 that maintenance teams are on site and working to repair the affected pipes.
The repair work is taking place at the following locations:
• corner of Monument and Ockerse Street, Krugersdorp CBD
• Rissik Street, Krugersdorp CBD
• Cecil Knight Street, Krugersdorp North
Mogoje confirmed that repairs are underway at all three sites and urged motorists and pedestrians to exercise caution while teams and equipment are operating in these areas.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked residents and businesses for their co-operation and patience while the repairs are being carried out.
Mogoje added that water supply will be restored once the maintenance and repair work has been completed.
Burst pipes follow recent water maintenance
The current water disruptions come roughly two weeks after planned water maintenance by Eskom and Rand Water resulted in some Krugersdorp residents being without water for several days after the work was completed.
In an article published by the Krugersdorp News on July 23, MCLM stated that its water network was steadily recovering following the infrastructure maintenance that affected several areas.
On Monday, July 27, residents in Kagiso were still experiencing challenges with their supply.
In another update on July 28, MCLM assistant manager for media and public relations, Refilwe Mahlangu, said the system was recovering; however, reduced water supply from the bulk supplier, together with increased consumption, continued to affect water availability in Kagiso.
