VIDEO: Locked up in a cage for charity – R28K out of R42 500 raised so far
It's day two and the Krugersdorp community is rallying behind Belly2Brain's cage lock-up initiative to raise money for charity.

Belly2Brain has so far raised R28 000 out of R42 500 for the 16 000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches they are going to prepare for several beneficiaries.
Founder of the Belly2Brain organisation, Dominique Tibbles, has locked herself in a cage at Cradlestone Mall for 67 hours as part of their Mandela Day initiative. Dominique said that this initiative aims to raise funds to make sandwiches to feed beneficiaries at The Cradle of Hope, The Bethany House Trust, Glow, Nic Diedrichs Feeding Program, Wings of Inspiration and Grace House Upliftment Centre.

The Krugersdorp News visited Dominique on day two of the initiative who was still locked in the cage. However, this time, she had a ‘cellmate’, Sandra da Mata, who only stayed 67 minutes, where the #BeSelfless organisation was donating R10 per minute for her ‘capture’.

“It is way too nice to be in a cage, due to all the friendly people coming past and donating. I love seeing something as great as this to come together!” Sandra said elated.
Dominique said that the day was a little rough under the collar, because she was sleep-deprived due to construction in the mall at night, and she only had about half an hour’s sleep.
“We collected about R2 000 today, and is still a long way from our goal. We encourage the community to come and help donate to feed those in need. There is also a knitting event for people to knit scarves for those in need, where they can get a free coffee at Spur. Numerous events are being hosted, including boxing and Zumba,” she added.
