Charity boxing event at Syringa Park supports rising talent
Boxers stepped into the ring at Syringa Park as the No Mercy Series combined action-packed bouts with a mission to support aspiring fighters.
Boxers showcased skill, determination and endurance at a charity boxing event held at Syringa Park on March 21, as the No Mercy Series – Boxing for a Change brought together nearly 50 participants for a day of competitive action.
The event featured 48 boxers competing across multiple bouts.
According to co-organiser Tremayne Dunn, the tournament is designed to serve as a development platform for emerging talent.

“It provides exposure for up-and-coming boxers and helps raise funds to ensure they can train in a safe environment – especially those who have the talent but not the financial means,” she said.

The tournament is hosted two to three times a year and has already helped launch promising careers. Dunn highlighted two fighters, Vuyo Radebe and Andre Malumba, who started in white-collar boxing events and have since progressed to the professional ranks.

“This motivates others to keep working towards that goal,” she said, adding that the event also featured strong entertainment throughout.
She said the event was well supported, with notable attendees including former professional boxers Ryno Liebenberg, Paul Immelman, Brian Mitchell and Gregory Clarke.
