Celebrating the Bavarian Christmas at Silverstar

Don’t miss the Bavarian Christmas winter wonderland festival at Silverstar Casino.

Guests from far and wide will come to celebrate the Bavarian Christmas Festival at Silverstar Casino from 3 to 7 July. For the duration of the festival Silverstar Casino will be transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of Christmas lights. A village market with quaint stalls will allow the guests to shop until they drop.

“We will recondition downtown Johannesburg’s much-loved Christmas lights to magically transform our venue into an authentic Bavarian village with a fairy land of lights. The ambience of the festival is most certainly a drawcard,” says Shane Collinson, Director of Operations and Complex General Manager at Silverstar.

The village market also will featur all things German and Christmas ranging from live traditional German bands and impromptu performances by street buskers.

A local cake boutique on the West Rand, Kelly Jayne’s will spoil guests with traditional carnival-type treats as well as some interesting takes on classic cookies as part of the festivities.

“This festival is truly unique in nature as it has a host of local exhibitors that will be selling their wares,” says Collinson.

Fun entertainment attractions also will be available for the children, which include face painting and balloon sculpting stalls along with a miniature amusement park with exciting rides.

Music lovers from all over town came to enjoy top local bands such as Beeskraal, Alter Irving and the Dixie Hillbillies.

Don’t miss the last few days of the Bavarian Christmas Festival at Silverstar. Tickets to the festival can be purchased online at the Silverstar website and Computicket at a cost of R20 per ticket.

Children under 12 enter at no cost.
