Young champs show off skills

Liverpool Football Club smashed Dinho Development Club 3-0, granting them the title of the u/13 Build It soccer champions of 2024.

The winning team won a soccer kit, medals, and a trophy, while Dinho took home soccer bibs and medals.

Eight teams from the region competed in the games which took part at the Foskor Sports Ground on Thursday, March 21. Thato Malesa of Liverpool impressed the adjudicators with his serving skills and was named the Player of the Tournament.

During the games, the best players were selected to represent Phalaborwa at an upcoming game against Soweto Soccer Academy in Gauteng in April.

Moses Mamatja, the development coordinator for Phalaborwa Soccer Development, told the Herald that the event was a success, and they will continue nurturing and promoting local talent to keep the youngsters off the streets.
