Hoedspruit runner celebrates with 150 completed Parkruns
Hoedspruit parkrun marked Retha Redelinghuys’ 150th run, with new participants, strong finishes, and thanks to volunteers and community partners.
HOEDSPRUIT – November 8 saw 72 participants take to the trails at Hoedspruit parkrun, but the spotlight was firmly on Retha Redelinghuys, who celebrated a remarkable 150 Parkruns. Friends, fellow runners, and volunteers gathered to congratulate her on reaching this significant milestone.
The event also welcomed several first-time runners, who were praised for joining the growing parkrun community.
On the competitive front, Terry Pickard finished first among the men with a personal best of 19:55, while Ansophie Olivier was the first woman across the line, completing the course in 23:50. Volunteers were again celebrated for making the event possible. Special thanks went to Donovan Botha, Harm Bouwknegt, Michelle Cochrane, Laetitia Cronje, Fiona Fern-Clarke, Cathy Henning, Harriet Kendrick, Michele Timko, Donovan Wilkes, and Mike Wuth.
The organisers also acknowledged the support of Protrack Anti-Poaching Training Academy for the use of their grounds, The Thirsty Giraffe Grillhouse and Wine Bar for ablution facilities, and Discovery Vitality for their continued partnership.
