Cici: ‘I never should’ve dated Arthur Mafokate’

The singer regrets mixing business with pleasure.

Busisiwe ‘Cici’ Twala says she will never date another man in the industry, following a violent altercation with her ex, Arthur Mafokate

“I should’ve stuck to the memo of never dating in the industry, it will never happen again,” she told Drum magazine in a recent interview.

Arthur has been charged with assault following an incident in June in which Cici was dragged for 300 metres while holding onto the handle of his car door.

The 999 Music boss has also opened a case against Cici, and denied he is a woman abuser.

Cici says when she met Arthur she was engaged to a dentist. But she says Arthur was not the reason she called off her engagement.

“Our timing didn’t work out. I was never home. We felt it wasn’t fair to both of us because we weren’t getting anything out of it. It felt necessary to go our separate ways,” she told Drum magazine.

Cici and Arthur kept their relationship out of the public eye, and it only became public knowledge following her claims of abuse. The singer also set the record straight about rumours that she was the reason Arthur broke up with Chomee.

Cici says she only started dating Arthur two years after his relationship with Chomee ended in 2014. “I would never go into a relationship with someone knowing they are still involved with someone,” she told the publication.
