Horizon chess champ to represent SA

A chess player from Horizon Academy, Arjun Prabha, has been chosen to represent South Africa in the 2016 African Youth Chess Championships in Port Elizabeth at the end of the month.

Arjun Prabha, a pupil of Horizon Academy, was recently invited to participate in the 2016 African Youth Chess Championships (AYCC) in Port Elizabeth.

The young chess player impressed scouts during local events and continued his winning streak over the past three weeks. He came third in his age group at a tournament in Lydenburg on July 23 and first at the LMS Chicken Licken Tournament at Laerskool Malalane on July 30.

Kayla Smith, a grade 2 pupil of Laerskool Malelane will also be competing in the AYCC. Read more about her here.
