Klipspringer Primary School, situated at 41 Koraalboom Avenue, West Acres, Mbombela prides itself in academic excellence as its slogan ‘Cadence, rise and glow’ suggests.

Since its establishment in 1978, the school has been a beacon of light for the community and a stepping stone for the development of young learners. The award-winning principal, Melusi Mamba, says the school has attracted the attention of parents because of the variety in the subjects they offer.

“We offer subjects you wouldn’t normally find in other primary schools, such as information and communication technology which is available for the grade one to seven learners. Our learners participate in soccer, netball and gumboot dancing. This year our netball team did exceptionally well.”

Mamba, who was awarded the excellence award in primary school leadership at this Advertorial year’s National Teaching Awards, spoke with pride as he described the accolades received by his staff members at the ceremony.

“Our Grade R teacher, Nicodene van Rooyen, won the award for the best Grade R teacher on district level and was second on provincial level. Additionally, Duncan Magagula won position one for the best teacher in primary learning on district level, and he won second position on the provincial level,” said Mamba.

When speaking about the schoolyard, he said they have a beautiful play area for the Grade R learners, which is conducive to their learning. “We pride ourselves in having diversified staff members and learners,” added Mamba.

He concluded that the school will have an orientation party for the 2025 learners on October 31.
