Investigation into man’s death at Burgersfort brothel launched

According to the reports, the deceased was discovered unresponsive by his female companion in her rental room on May 26.

The sex workers at Ext 10 in Burgersfort have temporarily ceased their services, in shock after one of their clients died after allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with one of them.

The Limpopo SAPS has opened an inquest docket following the sudden death of this unknown man while he had been visiting a brothel in the informal settlement at about 12:30 on May 26.

According to the reports, the deceased, estimated to be in his early 30s, was discovered unresponsive by his female companion in her rental room after she had rendered her services. Emergency medical services were immediately contacted and upon arrival, pronounced the man dead on the scene.

Forensic pathologists collect the deceased body.

“Preliminary investigations have commenced, and the cause of death remains undetermined at this stage. The police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination, which will provide more insight into the circumstances surrounding the death,” said the Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
