Top Matric Achievers 2023

The Mpumalanga Matric Class of 2023 had a pass rate of 77% for the NSC exams. The Ehlanzeni Region obtained a pass rate of 81,8%, the highest pass rate of all the regions in the Province for the NSC exams. The country’s pass  rate for the NSC exams for 2023 was 82,9%, the highest percentage in the NSC exam history so far.

HOËRSKOOL NELSPRUIT SE MATRIEKUITSLAE VIR 2023

In ’n groot oorwinning vir Hoërskool Nelspruit (NHS) het die matriekklas van 2023 ’n uitmuntende 100%-slaagsyfer in die Nasionale Seniorsertifikaateksamens behaal.

Dit is ’n verbetering op die skool se 2022-slaagsyfer van 99,6%.

NHS spog ook met die beste matrikulant in die provinsie, Niandi Coetzee (18).

Die skool is as die beste presterende hoërskool in Mpumalanga aangewys. Die provinsie het algeheel 77% behaal. NHS het met 24 ander hoërskole gekompeteer wat ook 100%-slaagsyfers behaal het. Hy het met sy 229 gr. 12-leerders as die wenner uit die stryd getree.

Hulle het altesaam 282 onderskeidings in verskeie vakke behaal en 100% tersiêre toelating, waarvan 89,5% van die leerders universiteitstoelating en 10,5% diplomatoelating behaal het.

Verder het die leerders ’n graadgemiddeld van 65,5% behaal. Agt-en-twintig leerders het meer as 80% behaal en 45 tussen 70% en 80%.

Die skool spog ook met Lize Oosthuizen wat nege onderskeidings ontvang het en Letha Janson wat agt behaal het.

Die Departement van Onderwys het die toekennings op 19 Januarie by die toekenningsgeleentheid by die Universiteit van Mpumalanga aan NHS se skoolhoof, Johan Hattingh, oorhandig.

Niandi en haar vriendin, Kaylee Ferreira, is as deel van die provinsie se top 10 aangewys. Hulle het albei onderskeidings in al sewe hulle vakke behaal, insluitende wiskunde, fisiese wetenskap en rekeningkunde.

Niandi, die LVR 2023 se president, het ’n splinternuwe voertuig vir haar prestasie as topleerder ontvang. Sy sê die sleutel tot sukses is goeie tydsbestuur en ’n gebalanseerde lewe.

“Ek het tyd saam met familie deurgebring, sosiale geleenthede by die skool bygewoon en aan sport deelgeneem.”

Sy gaan vanjaar BCom rekeningkunde aan die Universiteit van Pretoria studeer. Niandi sê dat die matriekklas van 2024 hulle matriekjaar ten volle moet geniet.

Uplands College commends outstanding achievements

Uplands College is delighted to announce the remarkable achievements of the Matric Class of 2023, once again attaining a 100% pass rate.

Notably, an impressive 96% of the graduating learners have met the requirements for bachelor’s degree studies, solidifying the institution’s commitment to excellence in education.

1% in South Africa across three subjects, showcasing the calibre of education provided at Uplands.

Uplands achieved outstanding overall results, with 21% of grades being As and 13 subject averages surpassing the national IEB average. An impressive 11 subjects recorded averages above 70%.

Jade Tinker – 7 Distinctions.

Claudia Klesse – 7 Distinctions.

Jade Tinker achieved an outstanding seven distinctions, ranking in the top 1% for business studies and dramatic arts. Claudia Klesse secured seven distinctions and was listed in the top 1% for business studies.

Eden Izeboud – 7 Distinctions.

Eden Izeboud attained six distinctions, with a top 1% placement in business studies.

Demelza Awogu – 7 Distinctions.

Demelza Awogu achieved six distinctions. Sanele Mpofu excelled in isiZulu first additional language, ranking in the top 1% for this subject.

Several learners achieved high distinctions, including five distinctions for Torr Turner, Delouise Alberts, Nicholas Ross and Lesedi Sedibe.

Curro Nelspruit’s Matric Class of 2023 achieved exceptional results in the IEB exams, with a 100% pass rate and a grade average of 64.9%.

From humble beginnings in 2012, Curro Nelspruit grew from only 400 learners to more than 1 300, 11 years later.

Curro Nelspruit has a high school in Sonheuwel (The Rest Nature Estate) that provides excellent Curro education to learners from grades eight to 12.

Our class sizes are limited to no more than 25, so that your child gets personal attention, and we have a wide variety of specialised subjects such as robotics and Siswati.

Teaching takes place in Afrikaans and English. We are an IEB school, and we also have a school transport option.

Hoërskool Bergvlam behaal ’n uitstekende 99%-slaagsyfer in 2023 se Nasionale Seniorsertifikaateskamen en is een van die top skole in Mpumalanga.

Bergvlam prioritised the academic year’s activities by focusing on thorough planning, effective contact time, extended academic time after hours and online digital education opportunities for all learners. Hoërskool Bergvlam is ’n multikulturele dubbelmedium- sekondêre skool in Mbombela.

Die  volgende Vlammies het puik presteer en behaal elk vyf onderskeidings: Ibrahim Guman, Phodisho Moloto en Ndumiso Skhosana.

Rob Ferreira achieves excellent matric results

Hoërskool Rob Ferreira is weereens baie trots op die pragtige uitslae van die Robbies van 2023.

Die matrikulante behaal ’n slaagsyfer van 98,76%. Dit getuig van hulle harde werk en toewyding, asook van die ondersteuning van hulle ouers en die beheerliggaam.

The learners achieved a 81.8% university pass rate. They obtained 81 distinctions.

Some outstanding individual achievements were also made: Kaila van den Heever obtained eight distinctions, Kevin Pulikkal and Raghav Rajeev obtained six distinctions, Carmen Rothman, Daniel Erasmus, Marli Scott, Nompendulo Mambane and Ruben le Roux obtained five distinctions and Owethu Maluka and Coli Mashile both obtained four distinctions.

Beacon College boasts a 100% pass rate

Beacon College in Malalane is beaming with joy after receiving a 100% pass rate for the 2023 matric class.

The Grade 12 learners came together to enjoy cake while collecting their statements from the school.

Beacon College’s Grade 12 Class of 2023 celebrate their achievements.

The school’s CEO, Surendran Nair, says he is very proud of the learners and all the supporting staff including the parents, teachers and all the stakeholders.

“It took a collective effort to get where we are today and we are happy to see our children enjoying the fruits of their labour. Everyone was fully involved in the strategies that we used to get here and we pat them on the shoulder,” said Nair.

The school received 54 bachelor passes, 14 diplomas and one higher certificate.
