Teacher arrested for stock theft

A teacher from Vanderbijlpark was arrested between Kranspoort and Loskopdam on suspicion of stock theft.

According to Warrant Officer Sipho Msiza (Manager, Sector 4) he received information that someone was loading cattle on a trailer on the Bankplaas road.

With the help of farmers he later found a red Isuzu with trailer on the road between Kranspoort and Loskop dam and directed the driver to stop.

After he inspected the animals, he saw that they had fresh brand marks and asked the suspect about it.

He told the policeman that he bought the animals and that the animals had to be brand marked to take it to Kwandebele.

He could not pinpoint exactly where he bought the animals and W/O Msiza arrested him on suspicion of stock theft.

• John Mahlangu (a Head of a Department at a school in Vanderbijlpark) briefly appeared in court and bail of R2 000 was granted. The case was postponed to a later date for further investigation.
