Linda excels at Mrs United Nations SA

Linda Lourens, our own Mrs Community Greater Middelburg, was just crowned as second princess at the Mrs United Nations SA 2015 competition.

The black-tie Mrs United Nations SA 2015 crowning event took place at Stone Cradle Restaurant last week. Ten finalists from across the country competed for the title.

Gauteng’s Desiree Oliphant won the competition, with Fransisca Liebenberg from North West’s as first princess and Linda, the only finalist from Mpumalanga, as second princess.

Linda also walked away with the Fitness Award as well as the Community Service and Booklet Awards.

Judges for the evening included South African designer extraordinaire, Simon Rademan, former Mrs UN International Liesel-Krause Wiid, and actress/author Fatima Abdul. Singing duo Natasha and Willie Joubert and MC Robbie Cruz provided the entertainment for the evening.

Mrs UN SA director Zantie Swanepoel said that the core purpose of the competition, which stands for family, faith and community, is to change one soul at a time.

• Linda is now automatically going through to the Mrs International competition in Florida.
