Three people killed in N1 head-on collision in Limpopo

Transport media liaison officer Mike Maringa said five people escaped with serious injuries while another sustained minor injuries.

A head-on collision between a SUV and a loading van left three people dead on the N1 North outside Botlokwa this morning.

Transport media liaison officer Mike Maringa said the deceased were two passengers and the driver of the SUV.

“Five people escaped with very serious injuries while the driver of the loading van sustained minor injuries,” he said.

Maringa added that preliminary investigations cite fatigue as a possible cause of the accident.

“It is alleged one of the drivers lost control of the vehicle and collided with an on-coming vehicle.”
