Nkangala’s ninth consecutive clean audit

The Nkangala District Municipality is following in the footsteps of its little brother, the Steve Tshwete Municipality, by obtaining its ninth consecutive unqualified audit report.

The clean audit has been confirmed by the Auditor General’s office.

Nkangala mayor, Cllr Thomas Ngwenya, credited the achievement to the management and officials of the municipality.

“This achievement is a clear indication of prudent management, headed by the Municipal Manager, Ms Maggie Skosana, and committed officials under her stewardship,” Mayor Ngwenya said.

“It further signifies compliance with legislation by the district, and this achievement is an expression of the district’s proper internal systems, and sound financial management, implying that the district has positioned itself as a public institution with a good reputation for proper spending of public funds,” Mayor Ngwenya added.

Over the past eight years, the district has achieved unqualified audit outcomes.

Mayor Ngwenya says the audit achievements are definite building blocks towards the vision of a responsible, accountable, effective and efficient local government administration, espoused in the national Development Plan 2030 mission.

The Nkangala District Municipality celebrated the significant milestone with the

public at Themba Senamela Stadium on
