Your stolen TV might soon be auctioned off

Have you been the victim of a burglary or theft in recent years?

The police are planning an auction to sell off unclaimed goods in their evidence store.

Members of the public are invited to come and have a look at the goods that will go on sale to see if their unclaimed property are not amongst it.

The public auction will be held at the Middelburg Police Station on Wednesday 31 May. Residents are invited to view the goods beforehand.

You can claim items back by proving that they belong to you with the help of a police case number and proof of payment.

Goods about to be sold include tools, television sets, furniture, computers, tyres and sound systems.

The auction will start on Thursday at 10:00, buyers can view goods from 09:00. Buyers will have to pay R200 refundable registration fee on the day.

Bring your identity document and television licence if you want to register as a buyer for the auction.
